Songs of Influence
There were many musical influences on the bands featured in Garage. Each band shared some of these influences along with some being unique to an individual group. All songs listed were performed by at least one of the groups in Garage.
   What you will find below is a list of songs and the name groups who performed the song. Occasionally it was not the original band who performed a song–an example being the Beatles’ version of ‘Twist & Shout’. This tune was originally done by the Isley Bros., but the version that a particular band in Garage knew was the Beatles’ version and not the Isley’s. Since many–if not all–of the bands here in Garage got their inspiration from established recording artists, it was natural that the records these groups listened to were the catalyst for the songs bands worked up. Original recording artists along with the ‘version’ artists are included when known. This list covers the span of Garage and is by no means meant to be exhaustive.
